Ask Pitt Posh-Your questions are answered.

Hey pretty girl,
As a fashion lover and Penn State grad from (and currently living in) Pittsburgh I'd love some ideas of where you shop. I know where to find designer brands (Ross Park mall, Shadyside, Walnut St.) but am interested in where YOU think are great shopping places?? Any smaller boutiques etc? Also, where in Pittsburgh have you found the most worth it consignment shops??

-Lesley

Well my fellow Penn Stater, you've asked the right girl!  I am a consignment shop junkie.
I avoid malls...completely for the most part.  I feel like you end up purchasing the same things as everyone else & can't be unique.

My Favorite Spots:

Avalon Exchange in Squirrel Hill--- it's literally my go to place if I want to find the best high end designers at the greatest prices.  I've found pieces from Chanel to Burberry to YSL there without dishing out major dough.

Ambiance Boutique--- It has great vintage pieces and you can also shop for a good cause because it benefits the Pittsburgh Woman's Shelter.  It's feel good shopping.  I've picked up a couple pairs of brand new Louboutins for a steal at their shop.  They have two locations which are located in Oakmont & Squirrel Hill.

Designer Days--- This great high end shop is also located in Squirrel Hill & you can find fun & unique pieces that tell a story.

Since you're a fellow Pittsburgher, let's style you up!

Meet the girl behind Pitt Posh.

Who is Pitt Posh?  I mean, who really am I?

The Path to fashion: Penn State grad with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant, & Institutional Management (quite a mouthful, I know) who quickly found out that was definitely NOT her passion in life.  Currently working on branding Pitt Posh into a personal styling business in the Pittsburgh area with means of expansion.  She modeled for many years and eventually ended up bored with the modeling aspect of the industry.

Life Passions: Animals (my rescued Rotty Cookie especially), being a vegetarian/vegan, yoga, creating new recipes, blogging, creating outfits & trends, vintage clothing.

I love: champagne, weekend getaways, kissing my dog, bargains, unique sunnies, fishtail braids, zucchini, green tea lattes, black & white, thunderstorms, learning new things, the smell of books.

Dislikes:  bullies, meat, slow drivers in the passing lane, facebook, techno music, hot weather, rush hour traffic, cheesecake, people who push their opinions, rainboots.

Favorite Blogs: OMGivenchy, SongofStyle, & Fashion Toast.

Go To Outfit: Black skinnies, a fitted tee, fur vest, & killer wedges.

Let's get personal.

I was thrilled when I received a package in the mail from TheBrandedBangle!  Mariel (the founder & designer of the jewelry company) personalized me a Pitt Posh bracelet! I must admit I am a bit obsessed with this gorgeous work of art & have added it to my daily arm party! It's fun to add a touch of personalization to your daily wardrobe.

It's even adjustable so it can fit as tightly or loosely as you desire!

I am so grateful for the beautiful present from such a sweet designer!  You can check out her designs on her Etsy shop which is: TheBrandedBangle

What's in your bag?

I don't think men will ever understand all the necessary items that a woman has in her handbag. I mean, you HAVE to have every single thing you could ever possibly need with you at all times right? Asking for a friend... ;)

I am totally head over heels in love with my hot pink fringed Rebecca Minkoff bag.  It's so roomy & can be scored for about $600.  You can find a similar one for the perfect WOW piece.

These are my ESSENTIAL, LIFE SAVING, ESSENTIAL daily items that are always in my bag!
I swear to you, I always have at least 3-6 pairs of sunnies with me at every moment.  I even keep them in a chic little gold leather bag to make sure they never get scratched.  Come on, a girl's gotta have options right at her fingertips.

I also always carry my favorite Maybelline lipstick with me.  The shade is "Electric Orange" and can transition easily from day to night.

Next, Dasani drops because who doesn't like a little flavor to their H20?  I prefer the yummy coconut pineapple flavor to spice up my drinks at anytime of day.

Obviously you need to have a statement wallet in your handbag.  I am obsessed with my leather studded Betsey Johnson wallet.  It has about a million card pockets and just looks so edgy, fun, and flirty.

I also carry my planner with me at all times because I am a bit old fashioned and prefer to write things down rather than enter them into my icalendar.  Also, DUH, my Iphone with a cute black & white bow case.

What do you ladies carry in your bags & cannot live without?

More soon.
