Chuck it out.

I never wear anything other than heels...like ever.  It's kind of what I'm known for with my family, friends, & people I work with.  So when I found myself throwing a pair of Chuck Taylor's into my cart earlier this week, I knew I was having a weird epiphany.  Whatever, I feel like they are a staple item to a wardrobe even if I only ever wear them once.  They are also super fun to style!!

Croc & Bones.

Sorry I've been MIA y'all!  I've been super busy with work & everything else going on in the Pitt Posh world.  I am so, so excited to share with you my newest addition to the family!!!

Meet my GORGEOUS vintage Hermès that I stumbled upon last weekend while browsing through some high-end consignment shops here in Pittsburgh.  I also am obsessed with the white bone necklace I also picked up while out.

New posts coming later this weekend.

Green with Envy.

I wanted to grab some quick drinks at the Yacht Club with Josh, so I just threw on some clothes quickly as we ran out the door.  It was chilly outside today so, of course, I randomly grabbed a hunter green jacket without thinking.  As soon as we were in the car I almost went into conniptions realizing I had two different shades of green on.  Turns out, sometimes your "throw on & go" outfits can be the most fun.  I ended up loving my double shades of green look for the afternoon.

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

Carrie Bradshaw-esque.

I wanted to play down my normal dressy attire, so I decided to test the waters with a pair of baggy, leather accented sweats.  They are very in this season & it reminded me of a Sex & the City-- Carrie Bradshaw moment.
I paired the over-sized sweats with a basic long sleeve tee & strappy sandals.  The pop of orange in the bag brought the entire outfit to a fun, young feel.  I had to add a MAJ pair of gold & black retro sunnies to the outfit of course!
This bag I fell in love with at first sight.  It's a leather BCBG bag with fabulous gold hardware. It's a great transition piece from summer to fall.

Enjoy your weekend!
More coming soon, my beautiful posh posse.

Keep your budget

I've been getting a ton of tweets & emails recently asking how to dress on a budget.  I loathe budgets, (my poor fiancé!) but I do have a couple tricks & tips to help with still being fashion forward on a budget.

My parents had a wine party last evening, so I traveled down to my old hometown & thought this was the perfect opportunity to play with the question I keep getting asked.

When I first arrived I was wearing a pair of matchstick white denims from Express. These jeans are one of my favorite pairs.  The zippers at the ankles add a touch of edge to any attire.  You can find them at Express's online store & they are even 40% off right now.

The blouse is from Forever 21, which I randomly spotted through the store window one day when shopping at the mall.  It's really comfy but still dressy at the same time.

I paired these two items with some chunky Calvin Klein printed sandals.  They retail for only $119 & can be found at any department store that carries CK.

My entire outfit for the first part of the day (minus my daily Cartier bracelets & engagement ring) only cost about $250.

Next, I decided to take a dip in the pool & I wore this AMAZING swim top from H&M.
The top is so fun & flirty with the over-sized Italian horn on the zipper!  And guess what, the top is under $20!  Find it at any H&M!

After taking a much needed dip in the pool, I changed outfits once again (I like clothes way too much) for my evening look.
I changed into this black lace romper.  I purchased it a while back from Forever 21 online.  I loved the back cutout detail.
I kind of had a Carrie Bradshaw moment with the whole bra being visible situation.  This romper was under $25!  I paired it with a metal chain & leather belt because it's too big around the waist & it brought the outfit to a more evening feel.

Being on a budget doesn't mean you don't get to have any less fun with clothes, it actually gives you the ability to be more creative.  You don't always have to spend a lot of money to look super posh!

Yesterday kicked off the first ever Pittsburgh Style Week.  This week is full of fashion filled events in the 'burgh.  I attended the Superwomen in Heels Style Awards tonight at The Pittsburgh Winery located in the Strip District.

My soon to be sister in law & I (Katie) hit up the red carpet for some fun photos!

I wore a fun & sassy Bebe long sleeve romper paired with BCBG strappy pumps & a vintage Dior clutch.

Color Pop.

I am not a fan of bright colors...or any color for that matter, but I do add a pop of color to my wardrobe on occasion.  Let's flash back to the end of May via a birthday dinner.  I found this fab white dress at a vintage shop & thought I should add a little sugar & spice to make it more fun for my 23rd!  Ta-Da!

The Mexican War Streets in downtown Pittsburgh were so beautiful that I had to take some photos by this rose garden!

P.S. Meet my soon to be family!  Joshua, Myself, my beautiful soon to be sister in law Katie, & her hubby Boo!

My fall essentials.

Most fashion forward folks love the fall season, & I am definitely one of them.  It's the best, come on, you have to agree!  Layers of sweaters, scarves, & boots OH MY!

Pitt Posh's fall essentials:

A great pair of riding boots.  I am rocking some Stuart Weitzman lace up boots in the picture below & they are a staple to my fall wardrobe. You can honestly never have too many pairs.  I probably own approximately 30+ pairs in all different colors & styles.
A comfy pairs of flats.  Ballerina flats never go out of style.  You can slip into them & you're out the door! Pictured below are my favorite Vera Wang black bow ballerina flats.
My next favorite thing for fall is fur vests, of course.  Real or faux, it doesn't matter.  These chic & stylish pieces can bring an entire outfit together & also keep you warm on those chilly fall days.  The vest pictured below is a rabbit fur vest via Saks.
Fashion is all about having fun & mixing & matching whatever you feel comfortable in.  Try a fashion risk this fall because you can't go wrong with layers! Throw on an over-sized chunky knit sweater, tights, & riding boots & you'll look hella posh!
Get my look:
Jeans: J Brand black skinny jeans
Top: American Apparel basic long sleeve shirt & Saks fox fur vest
Scarf: Louis Vuitton
Shoes: Bamboo Suede Wedges
Bag: Louis Vuitton

More coming soon.

Stay posh!

Be a college campus fashionista.

Whether you're in college or in high school, your daily campus wardrobe doesn't have to be a drag.  I've been graduated from Penn State (WE ARE!) for exactly a year now, & I didn't let my fashion forward edge go down the drain during those 4 years.

I get it.  You don't want to wake up early for that dreaded 8 am class, so you throw on some leggings, an over-sized shirt, & some Ugg boots...you know who you are!  Guess what ladies, in the time it took you to throw on that fashion faux pas, you could have easily grabbed a pair of jeans, a cute top, thrown a cardigan over top, & added some riding boots to that outfit without having to sacrifice your sleep time.

With school approaching, I thought it'd be a great idea to post some items that you should consider having in your wardrobe for the upcoming school year.  They are easy, breezy, & affordable since we all know the "I'm a poor college student" line everyone pulls.  ;)

My suggestions for fall:

A great pair of black skinny jeans is a must.  They go with everything & can be put on in half the time it takes to shimmy into a pair of leggings.

Via J. Crew
These great black matchstick jeans are available at J. Crew & won't break the bank.  Find them here: Must Have Black Skinnies

Next I would suggest an over-sized cardigan.  This is essential on those chilly walks to campus or to the bus stop.  Face it, it's pretty, feminine, & goes with basically everything with ease.

Via Nordstrom.com
I must admit, I am obsessed with this cardigan sweater.  Dress it up or down & you can easily throw it into your tote for class without a worry.  Find it here & it's even on sale: Robe Cardigan Sweater

Moving on, the perfect shoes for fall are chic flats & sporty riding boots.  I accumulated an abundance of riding boots in my 4 years at Penn State & I honestly cannot live without them.  Tuck them into skinny jeans, throw them on with a cute dress, or even rock them with a tunic & tights!  You can never have too many.

Via zappos.com
I enjoy some hardware on my boots to spice them up a bit.  These boots are chic & functional.  Find them here & they are on sale for my budget fashion gals! Riding Boots with Hardware

Via anntaylor.com

Every girl needs a cute pair of flats & may I suggest leopard?  I know what you are thinking, what am I going to wear those with...UMMM EVERYTHING!  You'd be surprised what leopard goes with!  They are so versatile & can be paired with majority of colors & even patterns as long as you don't go overboard. You can find these flats here in an array of colors: Leopard Ballet Flats

Next, the infamous bag to lug all those heavy books & binders to class in.  I was a Louis Vuitton Neverfull kinda gal in my college days, but if you're ballin' on a budget, then let me suggest some cute totes for you! P.S. Please, Please, I beg of you...ditch the Vera Bradley quilted totes for the love of couture!

Via zappos.com

This chic white tote has the capacity to hold all your heavy books & whatever you might throw in your daily campus tote with the support of handles & a cross body strap.  It's chic & affordable.  Find it here: Perfect Tote

via nastygal.com
This fun tote is super sassy without being over the top.  Add this to a laid back outfit & you've got yourself a statement piece. Find it here: Sassy Foil Tote

Lastly, scarves.  Scarves can take any outfit from drab to fab in .5 seconds.  Every girl needs to have at least a few lying around her closet...or in my case, about 130 in my closet!

via revolveclothing.com
This fun scarf from revolve clothing is a fall must!  It has the dark hues & the color combination within the scarf can be paired with virtually any color!  Get yours here: Fall Scarf Must Have

I hope I helped you all put together some fun outfits & ideas for your school year.  Remember, you don't have to spend a million bucks to look like a million.

Hugs!
