Turquoise is the New Black.

With all the talk of statement pieces this season, I thought I'd shed a  little light into my favorite jewel, turquoise.  Maybe it's because of my olive skin tone (I'm Italian & Czech) or maybe because it's so versatile, but turquoise jewels have been my go to for years & years.  The tone adds such a cool, beachy but also very New York feel to me.  It can be easily and effortlessly added to nearly any outfit just for the right amount of punch.

Some people feel like turquoise is a summer jewel, but it's an anytime, anywhere jewel in my eyes.  It even took the runway at NYFW.

I love how Oscar paired the coral dress with an over the top, definite statement earring.  My eyes automatically are drawn to the major earrings in this picture before even getting to the dress.

A few from my personal collection:

I actually wore this feather & turquoise colored beaded statement necklace today to work, which gave me the inspiration to do a little post about my love for the hue or the stone turquoise.

How do you wear your turquoise? Send a picture of yourself rocking some of your favorite turquoise pieces for a chance to be featured on Pitt Posh.  pittposh@gmail.com

Growl it out.

Seeing that I have a rescued, semi special needs Rottweiler named Cookie, I HAD to purchase the Givenchy limited edition Kanye West (yes, that's right) Rotty tee.  I am so obsessed with this shirt it's not even funny.  The only untruthful thing is the printed image of the snarling dog isn't anything like my gentle giant, Cookie. It also gave me a chance to break out my BADASS mid thigh Loubs!  Bring on the leather ladies.  It's sooo in for fall.  Even add a fun touch like I did with my military green baseball cap with a leather brim.

Also, meet Mama Posh! Isn't the vintage Chanel blouse I bought her for Mother's Day amazing? SO simple chic.

Pittsburgh Fashion Stylists Unite

Tonight I met with my fellow Pittsburgh fashion stylists for some dinner & drinks at Pusadee's Garden.  Share Some Style set up the event for us to meet & mingle along with meeting the founders of Share Some Style who are based out of San Fransisco.  It was such a unique mix of stylists with different backgrounds, cultures, & of course, styles.

Before heading out.
Just a few of the stylists & the founder of Share Some Style, Diane. Sorry the pic is so dark!

Denim on Denim

People always say denim on denim is a fashion faux pas, but it's actually a very laid back, cool look if you don't over do it.  Take the dive into the double denim & you'll be surprised with the outcome.  After shooting this look, Josh & I went out to dinner & I got numerous compliments on my outfit, so let's just say this fashion faux pas is laid to rest for a while & back in action.
